Education system of Pakistan

Education is one of the elementary factors in devolvement and progress of society. No country can accomplish sustainable economic development without extensive investment in its education system. Advanced nations of the world have a stable and effective education’s system. One serious problem which is that facing by Pakistani nation is the poor system of education. According to recent report of UNESCO, Pakistan is far from achieving education for everyone, so Pakistan has failed to achieve the goal of quality education for all.  The education system is a true reflection of a society and it is also an important factor to improve the social condition of people. Pakistani Government should take appropriate measure to solve this problem or reform it. The Pakistani Government should take some suitable step to improve their education system.

The basic general education should create in the students, the ability to develop their skills.  We should focus on social and natural sciences but our system does not provide approach any basic knowledge to the students, to make them capable. Religious sciences are totally ignored; Madrasas are product of this shortcoming in the national education system .No one can deny the fact that our society needs erudite religious scholars just as it needs scientists, literate, doctors and engineers.

Current education system in Pakistan is very poor and creating distances within our nation, from our culture and tradition. May be in a couple of years, we might lose our culture. Our ignorance of Arabic and Persian language has already cost us losing our memory of fourteen hundred years. It is removing from our minds, the record of about hundred years, of our history and culture .The same is happening now with Urdu .Three hundred years ago our culture and tradition was coded in Urdu.  We will definitely lose each and every thing related to our precious culture. It means our coming generations would no longer know the names of the pioneer of Muslims scholar and literature.

The state does not allow, and rightfully so, any government and non-government organization to set up universities of higher education, where they can learn. This state of affairs is very grave. The government should take up this issue seriously. All social sciences should be taught in Urdu .Science and mathematics should be instructed in English .Religious content should be in proper Arabic.

As for the religious education, in the first five years, the students should be made to memorize some selected part of Holy Quran, and supplications made in the prayers.  Arabic language should be taught from fifth class onwards. After teaching the students basic Arabic grammar, the Holy Quran should be taught. Islamiyat and Pak studies should be replaced by the subject of history. In the syllabus of history, topics on national, international, and Muslim history should be included. Madrasas should be acknowledged as institutions of higher education.  The government should understand the wider meaning of education. It should not be confused without schooling. The government must recognize that education is provincial subject, therefore the provincial government should make their policy, and they must have responsibility to implement it. In Madrasa and schools teachers should be trained. The education system is a true reflection of any society and it is also the most important factor of the country. Education plays very important role to improve the social condition of the people. Educated people can do efforts in progress of a country. They will know their rights and duties and perform their duties very well in this way a country can progress. Education should be free for whom who cannot pay for studies, free books should be provided to them, who cannot buy it. If people will be educated they will be aware and country will progress.
