Kashmir Conflict Author Ayesha Irshad Malik On 3 rd June 1947 British Government offered a plan for India and Pakistan and it was also known as the Mountbatten plan. In 3 rd June plan the British Government included these principles in Mountbatten plan. British India was divided into two states Hindu states, Hindustan and Muslims states, Pakistan; both countries received the rights of a dominion. Some provinces formed part of Pakistan, and some to be part of Bharat. About 562 states were ruled by princes called Rajas and they were given freedom to consent any to Pakistan or to Bharat, or to remain independent. About more than 500 states consented to Bharat and rest of Pakistan, In Provinces Bengal and Punjab the issue of separation was decided by vote of the governmental assemblies, Partition of the provinces Bengal and Punjab between both countries.
